- Tick the Save all items to a single file checkbox and click on Save. You can use the editing and scan tools in HP Easy Start to customize your photo or document.
- Open the HP Easy Scan app. Choose a scan job type from the Presets menu. Click Edit Settings to change any basic settings to the preset you selected.
- Click the scanned thumbnail item present in the left panel. Click on Edit present at the bottom of the window.
- Click Adjust to change color settings and click Straighten to change the angle of the scan. Click on Crop to change the scan to a standard or custom paper size.
- Finally click on Send, and then click Folder. Click Where to set the location where to save the file and then click on Save.

Method 1: Using the Image Capture application
In order to use Image Capture included with Macintosh OS X 10.8 or later, the ICA Scanner Driver is required.

- Connect your Brother machine to the Macintosh using a USB cable. Or connect your Brother machine to the same LAN (if you are using a network model) where the Macintosh is connected.
- Launch the Image Capture application. (Choose Go => Application => Image Capture.)
- Choose the machine from the list on the left side of the screen.
Hint:
If you connected the Brother machine and your Macintosh with a USB cable, you will see the machine in the DEVICES area. If connected via LAN, you will see it in the SHARED area.
If you cannot see the machine in the DEVICES area or the SHARED area, point the mouse pointer over the area, and then click Show. - Place your document in the ADF or on the scanner glass.

If the program does not automatically crop the document as you want, you can do it manually by dragging the mouse pointer over the portion you want to scan from the dialog box that can be accessed by clicking on Show Details. - Choose the destination folder or destination application for Scan To.
